Life Cafe Nine83

So first day and I didn't want to seem like a tourist snapping pictures with my camera phone so deal with the quality...and to be honest I was a few drinks in when I thought LIFE CAFE!!!!! What a great place to start.

History: Many know of the Life Cafe now from the play RENT by Jonathan Larson. A major hit in the East Village (the originals home). Life Café is still alive and kicking in E. Village By Brooke Edwards
"Alphabet City has seen as much change in 25 years as some neighborhoods see in 100. From the 1980s, with lines of down-on-their-luck addicts waiting to get their fix, to today, with lines of young professionals waiting to get into the latest cool lounge, few businesses have managed to weather the changing demographics and soaring rents that have accompanied the gentrification of the neighborhood."

In 2002 the cafe opened a location in Bushwick/Williamsburg Brooklyn a now hot spot for these trend setters and "hipsters" of the new generation. A quick favorite place of mine and really everyone I know that has been there. They have riddles of the week with paintings by local artist, TV's that play shows we hardly remember and rocking music. Heck even my receipt told me to "Remember, love is enough." With a vast selection of food to IPA's, chocolate martinis and beatnik, fashion forward servers and bartenders this place would have been loved by so many of you my artsy friends you!

Can I even mention they have a local artist do a comic strip entitled "Figit and the Weed" that spans the whole side of the place along with local specials like Mondays "half off bottle of wine with purchase of two entrees". RIGHT!?!?!?!

Christmas lights! Nuff said.

Memories.

Memories are defined by Wiki as; In psychology, memory is an organism's ability to store, retain, and recall information and experiences. Traditional studies of memory began in the fields of philosophy, including techniques of artificially enhancing memory. The late nineteenth and early twentieth century put memory within the paradigms of cognitive psychology. In recent decades, it has become one of the principal pillars of a branch of science called cognitive neuroscience, an interdisciplinary link between cognitive psychology and neuroscience.

Urban Dictionary defines it as; A thought from your past that keeps affecting your future.

This blog is a simple day-by-day picture to include those who are from my past that affect my future thoughts, dreams and ambitions each day.

This is for us from miles away sharing the things our visits together didn't allow us the time to take apart in.

Enjoy.
